How to gain weight using whey protein?

I am about 117 pounds and looking to put on weight and gain mybe 13 pounds. People told me protein drinks are a good way to do this. I bought 100% whey protein and took it after a worked out but someone said if i was just looking to put on weight i should take it two or three times a day. Is this going to help? Also is it ok to drink it in milk?

just protein shakes aren't going to help you gain wieght. if you want to gain wieght you have to eat more whole foods. protein shakes will only help you a TINY bit, they aren't magical elixers that make you gain like 10 lbs in a month. They might help you gain 1-2 lbs in a month AT THE MOST. so concentrate your efforts on eating HIGH CARBS and HIGH PROTEIN. Drink a gallon of water a day, and work out 5 days a week for an hour. then flex in the mirror after 3 monthes. you will be happy with your results.

well... as other people have posted whey protein on its own will really not help u gain alot of weight.. they are very light calorie as it is.. and u really need to be eating alot of foods.. increasing calories, and just forcing yourself to eat more.......

you will also have to train each muscle intensely once a week.... untill failure.. or close to it atleast..... 6- 8 reps..........

u can also try taking a weight gainer.... but u will need a blender...
